This is an eight week class designed for teens, to introduce them to the basics of drawing. They will draw from direct observation and imagination; and they will learn how to see images and re-create them on the page.  This is the perfect class for your child who is wanting to expand their artistic talents, while making new friends and having fun with their imaginations! 

The eight weeks will focus on the following skills: 

Week one:  Introduction, materials and how to use them

Week two: Value scale, and types of lines 

Week three: Drawing a still life

Week four: Drawing a full table still life 

Week Five: Drawing movement

Week Six: Drawing the figure 

Week Seven: Drawing the face 

Week Eight: Drawing from imagination 

Class size is limited to 10 students

Cost is $200 (Includes materials fee) 

Materials that you will receive to work with include: 18x24in 80lb drawing paper. 18x24in newsprint paper. Drawing board. 2h, hb, 8b graphite pencil. Hard, medium, soft charcoal pencil/willow sticks. Kneaded eraser, pink pearl eraser. Pencil sharpener. Blending stumps. Painter’s tape. Medium grit sandpaper. Size 6 flat/ filbert brush.
